STEAM-Design Program Application

Thank you for your interest in the STEAM-Design program. 

  • The program runs from July 6 to July 31, 2026, and you’ll need to be available for the entire time. Our summer program is full of engaging schoolwork, fun activities, and exciting experiences that require your full attention. To help you get the most out of it, we ask that you do not enroll in any other summer courses or programs—whether in-person or online/asynchronous—while participating.
  • December 1, 2025 - Application Open

    April 1-2, 2026 - Email sent to arrange for interviews 
    April 18-19, 2026 - Interviews
    April 27-29, 2026 - Admission offers emailed
    July 6-31, 2026 - STEAM-Design Program period
  • You must provide a personal email address that you can access regularly. Please ensure your email address is correct before you submit the form because we will use this to communicate with you. A copy of the application will be sent to the email address that you provided in the STEAM-Design program application once it is complete. Please contact steamdesign.oao@utoronto.ca if you have not received a copy of your application immediately after you complete the form.
  • The information that is collected from this application will not be shared with any other university departments or external contacts. The information that we collect is used to consider your eligibility for the STEAM-Design program. If you are admitted to the program, we will share the information that is collected in your application with the school board for the purpose of administering the high school credit (SNC 4M). 

The Summer 2026 program is not open to STEAM Design or Summer Mentorship Program (SMP) alumni. Please do not submit an application if you have already completed one of the aforementioned programs.

The STEAM Design program was created to help address concerns about the under-representation of Black, Indigenous, Latin American, Filipino and other racialized communities within the health sciences through academic and career exploration at the University of Toronto.

[2] Trans refers to a person who identifies with a gender other than the one assigned to them at birth, or to a person whose gender identity and gender expression defers from stereotypical masculine and feminine norms. It is also used as an umbrella term for those who identify as transgender, transsexual, trans, gender variant, gender non-conforming, genderqueer, or an analogous term.
