Academic Planning in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine

The academic planning process is starting in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine.

We want to hear from members of our community throughout this critical process that will help identify future priorities in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine. This page will be updated with opportunities to participate and share your perspectives. Please check back regularly and watch for announcements in MedEmail.

What is the academic planning process?

It includes three key phases:

Academic Planning timeline

The Self Study is an opportunity for reflection and self evaluation. The External Review welcomes international experts to review our Faculty and provide feedback on opportunities for further development. The Academic Strategic Plan utilizes the findings from the self study and external review to identify future priorities for the Faculty. Each step is a critical part of the University of Toronto’s quality assurance process.

Self-Study

In preparation for Temerty Medicine's upcoming External Review in Winter 2026, the faculty has prepared a draft Self-Study. The self-study is a reflection on our strengths, challenges and opportunities for growth.

The window to provide feedback on the self-study has closed. Additional opportunities to contribute to the broader Academic Planning process will be available in later phases.
