Speech-Language Pathology: COVID-19 Update on Classes and Clinical Placements

March 12, 2020

Dear students,

I hope this message finds you well. In light of the current developments regarding COVID-19, the following message has been posted on the Faculty of Medicine Website: https://medicine.utoronto.ca/restricted-duties-and-local-placements-faculty-medicine-clinical-learners

Please be aware that the Rehabilitation Science Sector and our Department are monitoring the situation carefully in consultation with our clinical partners and we will communicate more specific information regarding placements and classes as soon as possible.

As per U of T guidelines (https://www.utoronto.ca/message-from-the-university-regarding-the-coronavirus), the best way to protect yourself is through prevention.

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water or alcohol-based hand sanitizer
  • Sneeze and cough into your sleeve
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth
  • Avoid contact with people who are sick
  • Stay home if you are sick

If you need to stay at home, contact in that case Susan Wagner (slp.gradcoordinator@utoronto.ca) as soon as possible.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.
