Students in rehabilitation sciences at the Temerty Faculty of Medicine were among those who graduated from the University of Toronto this week, marking the occasion in ceremonies at Convocation Hall and Hart House.

Riya Shah is one of 125 new graduates from occupational science and occupational therapy (OS&OT). Shah is a co-valedictorian of this year’s class, and says she was surprised to learn about both the interdisciplinarity of her profession and the many areas of life where it makes a difference.

Aaron Wexler is one of 110 graduates from Temerty Medicine’s physical therapy (PT) program. Wexler is a valedictorian who is already providing out-patient physical therapy for people living with neurological conditions, and is helping with research studies.

Other students celebrating convocation this week include graduates from the Rehabilitation Sciences Institute, speech-language pathology, biomedical communications, MD/MBA combined program, physician assistant program, medical radiation sciences and Institute of Medical Science.
