The Faculty of Medicine has won top honours at the 2014 MarCom Awards.  The Office of Strategy, Communications and External Relations (OSCER) won three platinum awards and an honourable mention for its work promoting the Faculty.

The annual North American awards recognize people or companies involved in the concept, writing and design of print, visual, audio and web materials and programs.  This year, about 6500 entries came from corporate marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, PR firms, design shops, production companies and freelancers.

This year, the Faculty of Medicine won platinum awards for Fulfilling our Potential: Dean’s Report 2013-2014, U of T Medicine Magazine, Spring 2014 and the recently re-launched Faculty of Medicine Website. The Faculty also won an honourable mention for its internal newsletter, MedEmail.

“I’m tremendously proud of our entire team,” said Lloyd Rang, Executive Director of OSCER. “The hard work, dedication and professionalism I see in my colleagues every day is inspiring, and it’s encouraging to see their good work recognized in such a profound and public way.”

“Recognition from a major professional association like MarCom affirms that the work we’re doing has the respect of our colleagues across the United States, Canada and other countries,” said Sarita Verma, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Associate Vice-Provost Health Professions Education and founder of OSCER.  “More importantly, it’s another way we can enhance our Faculty’s reputation, and to show we not only celebrate innovation, but also communicate it in new and meaningful ways.”
