Dear Year Three MRS Students,
As the situation continues to evolve with the COVID-19 outbreak, the MRS Program recognizes that the situation is changing rapidly and that our decision-making needs to be adaptive and flexible.
The MRS Program has taken the decision to place all third year MRS students on a three-week break as of March 16, 2020. This is based upon the following principles:
1. We must keep patients safe.
2. We must keep our students safe.
3. The MRS Program leaders are working to preserve the integrity of your learning experiences and make necessary plans for your return to the clinical placement once we are assured that is safe for both you and for the clinical sites.
4. Currently, the MRS Program intends to preserve, if possible, the graduation timelines. We know you will be concerned about the CAMRT examination scheduled for May 11-12, 2020. The Program has been notified by the CAMRT that they are currently working towards a contingency plan. If there are any changes to the national exam, the CAMRT will communicate any updates directly to those registered to write.
We understand this is difficult – for you as students and for our community. Please do not hesitate to reach out to Catherine, Kieng or myself. At this time, the Office of Health Professions Student Affairs remains available to you for your support.
Thank you for your understanding during this very difficult time.
