LSM 880 Elyra Superresolution

The LSM 880 Elyra system provides three imaging capabilities.  The system is equipped with a high sensitivity spectral confocal, Structured Illumination (SIM) superresolution and superresolution Localization Microscopy (PALM/STORM) capability.  The full visible spectrum of fluorophores may be imaged in both the LSM and SIM modalities.  The SIM superresolution provides a 2x increase in lateral and axial resolution over the typical optical limits of resolution.  The Localization Microscopy capability provides resolution on the order 10x better than optical resolution on well prepared samples, but requires that fluorophores be capable of “switching” either by photo-manipulation or by chemical means.
