iLEAD stands for Inspiring Leadership in Equity, Accessibility and Diversity. Born out of conversations amongst a group of first-year medical learners whose identities have unfortunately limited opportunities for career exploration and advancement, this mentorship program was put in place to support our fellow classmates and incoming medical students who are part of equity-deserving groups by leveling the playing field. Currently, there is no existing peer-to-peer support program within the U of T MD Program for equity-deserving groups. iLEAD is a mentorship program to help fill this critical gap.
The iLEAD Mentorship Program is a two-tier longitudinal opportunity that connects:
Are you an incoming first year (2T9) medical student? Be paired with an available upper year MD student mentor. Mentee sign-up will be available in mid-July.
Are you an upper year (2T6, 2T7, 2T8) medical student or U of T resident physician? Sign up to be a mentor using the button below! Be connected with a mentee who is currently seeking mentorship, or remain available for when needs arise.
