Temerty Medicine Community Connection: Trans* at Temerty Med

Trans* individuals have traditionally been both under-represented, and under-recognized in the community of medical learners, and have been subject to discrimination, microaggressions, and exclusion from opportunities for advancement and recognition.

Temerty Medicine recognizes the importance of demonstrating support of the trans* community in medicine, to create opportunities for networking, amplifying their advocacy efforts, and to support the growth, development, and personal and professional fulfillment of its trans* members.

The Trans* at Temerty Med event aims to create a space to empower trans* medical learner, staff and faculty to partner with the Temerty Faculty of Medicine to make progress towards these important goals.

We invite all learners, staff, and faculty members who identify as part of the trans* community at @uoftmedicine or the Toronto Academic Health Sciences Network (TAHSN) hospital sites to attend this evening.

*We use an asterisk to include diverse gender identities that don't fall within the traditional cis-trans binary, including but not limited to individuals who identify as nonbinary, genderqueer, agender, gender fluid, cross-dressers, two spirit, and intersex.
