Hispanic Health in the GTA: Cultural Sensitivity & Barriers to Care
Join the Hispanic Medical Students Association (HMSA) for an upcoming panel discussion, Hispanic Health in the GTA: Cultural Sensitivity & Barriers to Care! We’ll be hosting three panelists, including a family physician, paediatric nephrologist, and a program director at Humber River Hospital. They will answer questions about the unique challenges the Hispanic community faces in the GTA in accessing healthcare, especially as it relates to being an immigrant, refugee, or undocumented person. Cultural sensitivity in the healthcare setting will also be discussed, along with the disproportionate impact the COVID-19 pandemic had on the Hispanic community.
There will be food for all attendees! This event is a must-attend for all medical students who want to learn more about providing culturally sensitive care to Hispanic patients. Everyone is welcome, no matter your cultural background—we hope to see you there!
When: Tuesday, March 28 at 6:30 p.m.
Where: This event will be held at MSB Room 2173 and TDHSC 253/263, with speakers in-person at both locations!
