Drawing Across the Disciplines: Graphic Facilitation
Join us for the third session in the CRIS series Drawing Across the Disciplines. This session focuses on Graphic Facilitation; the technique of drawing images and words to capture complex ideas and concepts in a compellingly visual way. Graphic Facilitation can be an accessible tool for creating, mobilizing, and translating research from a range of participants and perspectives.
The faculty panelists—Dr. Amy Wright (Nursing) and Dr. Seika Boyd (The Centre for Theatre & Performance Studies) will share how they began working with their artistic co-creators Tanya Gadsby and Adriana Contreras. The panel discussion, moderated by Jenna Hartel (iSchool), will introduce the benefits of graphic facilitation in research, how to find and work with artists and the suitability of this mode of research creation. Sharing their joint experiences in doing graphic facilitation, the panelists will highlight the specific affordances of graphic facilitation.
Panelists will showcase their recent work and provide advice for getting started with graphic facilitation in research.
