"The Dark Degree": A new event to crush impostor phenomenon in Science

Do you feel like you're struggling in grad school while everyone else's degree around you is going perfectly? Well you're not alone! Often, we only hear about the success stories that go on within grad school, even though there are so many hiccups and dead ends along the way.

Come join our event: “The Dark Degree: Stories of grad school mishaps”, where you get a chance to share some challenging, funny, or embarrassing moments that you have experienced throughout your grad school journey!

On Thursday, September 27th from 5-7pm, the GLSE Crush Imposter Phenomenon team will be hosting a night of food and stories featuring grad school mishaps. Individuals will be given 10 minutes to tell their story, and there will be an opportunity to chat and connect afterwards. This is also a fun opportunity to prepare incoming graduate students for what’s to come and show them they aren’t alone!

Register with your story in this Google form! This registration is for those who would like to present their story. Attendance registration will be sent in the coming weeks. This speaker registration is open to upper year graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and faculty. The registration deadline is September 1st at 11:59pm. Selected speakers will be contacted in early September.

We hope you’ll join us!
