What to Expect:
- Art Competition: Listen along as artists unveil and present their artwork to a panel of judges - emphasizing the intersection of art and science.
- Keynote & Panel Discussion: We are honoured to present Sonya Amin as our keynote speaker. A University of Toronto alumna and a pioneering force behind AXS Studio, Sonya leads a team renowned for transforming complex scientific concepts into captivating visual narratives. Our distinguished panellists include Dr. Jodie Jenkinson (Professor and Director of Biomedical Communications at UofT and Principal Investigator of the Science Visualization Lab), Dr. Allison Crawford (Professor in the Department of Psychiatry, Chief Medical Officer of 9-8-8 Suicide Crisis Helpline and the Founding Director of HeART Lab), and Heather Brown (Art Therapist and Registered Psychotherapist).
- Gallery Viewing, & Networking: Connect with a diverse group of professionals, academics, students, and community members to find new perspectives for science communications.
- Awards Ceremony: Be part of an awards ceremony that honours the art pieces that best exemplify the transformative power of art in communicating science.
