Dr. Bill Carpentier MD (UBC '61), MSc (Aerospace Med, OSU '64), DSc Hon (UBC, 2019) is a retired Canadian NASA flight surgeon assigned to several Gemini and Apollo missions, including Apollo 11 and Apollo 13.

Learning Objectives:

1.    Understand key lessons from the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo missions
2.    Have awareness of challenges encountered for a flight surgeon in those eras
3.    Integrate and apply those lessons to current situations

The ‘Aerospace Medicine Rounds’ is a self-approved group learning activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
