CQUIPS+ Academic Writing MASTERCLASS

Do you have a quality improvement project or research that you would like to write up for publication? In this four-hour interactive Masterclass, we will highlight the importance of starting with a strong abstract, instead of writing at the very end when you are sick of the paper and just want to get it submitted. A hastily thrown together abstract is a recipe for rejection. Moreover, a good abstract written early helps you vet the idea and provides an evolving roadmap for the project and manuscript as they unfold. You will have the opportunity to learn writing tips and strategies, as well as receive individualized feedback on your abstracts and manuscripts from experts and editors in the field of QI and patient safety. You will also learn tips on how to create value for your reader by making the reader care about your problem, and gain experience reviewing journal articles to help identify common pitfalls. This will be a fun interactive session with dedicated time for small group breakouts and individualized feedback.

Presenters: Drs. Kaveh Shojania and Patricia Trbovich
