Be. Belong. Become.: A Celebration of Black Identity, Community and Excellence
The Office of Inclusion and Diversity and Black at Temerty TMCC Working Group would like to invite all Black-identifying learners, staff, and faculty members at Temerty Faculty of Medicine and Toronto Academic Health Sciences Network (TAHSN) hospital sites to join us for delicious cuisine, insightful speakers, and mentorship and networking opportunities related to the Black experience in medicine and health sciences!
Be. Belong. Become. is an event designed to create space for Black staff, faculty, and learners to engage in meaningful dialogue, share lived experiences, and collectively envision pathways for growth, belonging and leadership within Temerty Medicine and beyond.
About Temerty Medicine Community Connection
Temerty Medicine Community Connection (TMCC) is an event series developed by community and for community, with learners, faculty, and staff at Temerty Medicine. We aim to host a safe space for attendees to (re)connect with each other as an introductory effort to building a culturally relevant community of support within the Faculty. TMCC aims to create an environment that will foster a sense of belonging and an opportunity to share data from the ‘Voices of’ surveys with communities. Since 2022, we have held TMCC events supporting members from the LatinX and Caribbean community, trans* and gender-diverse community, Muslim community, East Asian community, South East Asian community and the South Asian community.

Date: Wednesday, September 16, 4:30-8:00 PM (doors open 4:30 for registration and networking.)
Location: Debates Room (Room 2034), Hart House, U of T (7 Hart House Circle, Toronto, ON, M5S 3H3) — Get directions to Hart House.
There are three barrier-free entrances to Hart House: Tower Road on the west side, Founders' Patio on the southeast side, and a barrier-free entrance into the Arbor Room at Hart House Circle. A passenger elevator operates on all floors.
There are accessible washrooms on the main floor outside of the Great Hall and in the Hart House Theatre lobby, as well as a Universal Washroom on the basement level outside the Arbor Room.
